Adobe on Friday rolled out an update to its Photoshop.com Mobile app for Android and opened the doors to third party developers.
The move, complete with an Apple dig, means that Photoshop.com Mobile can be built into other applications. Photoshop.com Mobile for Android comes with new photo editing effects.
Photoshop.com Mobile is available on the iPhone, but can't be built into third party apps. In a statement, Doug Mack, general manager of digital imaging and rich media solutions at Adobe said:
Unlike iPhone, the Android platform allows us to make the Photoshop.com editor broadly available to developers so they can provide it within any application they are working on. Photoshop functionality can then easily be accessed from an online auction, real estate or social media application so users can quickly fix photos and make them look their best, before being showcased.
The relationship between Apple and Adobe has become strained to say the least over Flash support for the iPhone and iPad. Also see:
