A report on ZDNet reveals how Amazon is extending the reach of its Web services to a wider international base, to Canada (Amazon.ca) and France (Amazon.fr).
Regular updates on Amazon Web services activity and thinking can be found at the AWS blogsite. Currently, the site has a lot of information that came out of Amazon's recent developer conference.
You can gain some additional insight into the company's evolving philosophies right from the company's new chief technology officer, Werner Vogels, at his two-year-old blogsite, "All Things Distributed." Vogels qualifies that his blog views will remain separate from Amazon's official position. But, all the "offline" commentary now being offered through blogs by leading IT executives (such as Sun President Jonathan Schwartz's blog), it's actually refreshing to read personal perspectives that haven't been zombified and turned into plain vanilla dribble by marketing departments.
