Amazon rolls out widgets for associates

Amazon launched its widget program so associates can add them to Web pages and collect referral fees.

In an email to Amazon Associates Friday, folks that collect a referral fee for sending sales Amazon's way, the company outlined widgets. Amazon also highlighted the widgets in a blog post. The widgets include:

• Slideshow, which allows you to pick images from the Amazon catalog and present and comment on them;
• My Favorites, which allows you to make recommendations;
• QuickLinker, which allows you to link to products directly on Amazon;
• Product Cloud, tag products that are relevant to content on a page;
• And Unbox Video Previewer, which shows titles and new TV and movie releases.
