Australian financial services AMP Limited has signed a three-year AU$150 million IT outsourcing contract extension with Computer Sciences Corporation.

CSC will continue to provide desktop, network and mainframe maintenance and support, and selected mid-range services for AMP's Australian operations until May 2007.

CSC signed an initial 10-year outsourcing agreement with AMP in November 1993 and has now decided to continue the relationship.

"CSC has worked closely with AMP through various national and international acquisitions, and we are pleased to extend the relationship," said CSC chairman and chief executive officer Van Honeycutt.

Lee Barnett, AMP's chief information officer, believes that focus on relationship management was key to the successful further association between AMP and CSC.

"After a rigorous review process, CSC was awarded a contract extension due to its service track record, demonstrated in particular over the last two years, competitive pricing and CSC's ability to adapt to AMP's business needs," Barnett said.
