Android Gingerbread UI surfaces in video: Still doesn't show much
Google posted a YouTube video exposing the Google Video Search in Cantonese in Android 2.3 and raised quite a ruckus. But we're not quite sure why.

Google posted a YouTube video exposing the Google Video Search in Cantonese in Android 2.3 and raised quite a ruckus.
The video, surfaced by the Android Police blog, apparently didn't garner much attention at first. There's probably a good reason for that: The video doesn't show you much.

The upshot: There are probably performance enhancements under the hood for Gingerbread. I'd bet that most of Google's time is focused on Android 3.0. That's what Nvidia has said about Android 3.0---the version that could create a real iPad rival on the tablet front.
