Apple: Facebook is all-time top free iPhone app

After Apple announced its App Store had broken the 25 billion downloads mark and then revealed the 25 billionth app download winner, the consumer electronics giant revealed the top apps of all time. The lists comprise of the top 25 apps separated into four categories: free iPhone, paid iPhone, free iPad, and paid iPad. In the U.S. and in the U.K., Facebook tops the first category.

Unlike other platforms, Facebook develops the apps for iOS and Android. For iOS, Facebook has long-supported the iPhone and iPod touch, and only started supporting the iPad in October 2011. This is likely why Facebook is not first in the free iPad category. For Android, Facebook is currently only supporting smartphones and has said nothing about tablets.
