Apple will finally drop DRM

Apple trades DRM for variable pricing.
Written by Richard Koman, Contributor

No Steve Jobs, Apple bidding bon voyage to Macworld. At least there's this: Apple will finally removed all DRM from iTunes sales, as USA Today reports.

The removal comes at a price. Three prices, actually. Jobs, perhaps weakened from his hormone imbalance, has given up on his longstanding resistance to variable pricing. Starting in April, Apple will offer three tiers of pricing from 69 cents to $1.29.

It's a fair trade.

Other than that: A new high-end laptop and improvements to iLife. Woo.
