Apple's iPad will not be the only tablet device making a debut in April. The Archos 7 Home Tablet, first announced just before CeBIT a few weeks ago, has popped up for pre-order in certain regions and should be shipping next month.

It appears that the Android OS-powered tablet will be available in Germany first, already appearing for pre-order on a few different retail sites based there, with an updated price set at €179.99 ($243) for the 8GB storage capacity model.

But don't go and set up an account on Amazon.de just yet. When it debuts stateside (whenever that is), Archos says the price on the Archos 7 HT will start at $199. If you're looking for a decent tablet with just adequate and baseline specs, that's not a bad deal.

No word on when the Archos 8, also announced a few weeks ago, will make its debut.
