AsiaMedic launches HeathWho.com healthcare portal
Members of the public and medical professionals can now have access to another healthcare portal. The internet arm of AsiaMedic Limited, HealthWho.com will allow doctors to use their managerial software as well as access the resources of AsiaMedic and participating medical organisations.
It will have its own in-house Clinic Management System (CMS 2000) that will provide functions like patient registration, prescription writing, drug inventory holding, diagnostic imaging and laboratory ordering.
In addition, HealthWho.com will provide website design and hosting, e-classifieds for healthcare positions and job vacancies as well as e-commerce platforms for healthcare,nutritional and beauty products.
HealthWho.com intends to target the 2,500 doctors in Singapore engaged in private practice. "When you factor in that each doctor sees around 20 to 30 patients a day and each patient on average requires two to three transactions involving drugs, laboratory and imaging tests, the potential market is enormous," said Dr Tan, the CEO OF AsiaMedic.
HeathWho.com is a joint venture between AsiaMedic (60 percent) and internet services company ASPOnline PTe Ltd (40 percent). It will employ the ISP services of IBM AS/400e server as well as its Net.Commerce, Net.Data and Websphere software.
AsiaMedic is a SESDAQ-listed group that has two business divisions, namely the provision of healthcare services and the manufacture and sale of plastic fabrications and injection moulds.
