At Yahoo, pursuing social responsibility through employees
Internet giant Yahoo turns the employee giving program on its head through its Yahoo Employee Fund, a competitive grant program for workers to champion their cause.

Since 1999, Yahoo's Employee Fund allows the Silicon Valley tech giant's workers to donate and champion their favorite cause through grants worth up to $40,000.
The average employee donates about $130 each year; Yahoo matches up to $1,000 of annual contributions per employee. Advisory panels are set up to evaluate the hundreds of non-profits that pitch the company for grant money.
