Autodesk unleashes 2009 software makeover

Autodesk announced a raft of updates to its software range this week, with new versions of its software families including AutoCAD, along with updates to its vertical market software such as Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk 3ds Max Design, Maya and Revit.

Autodesk announced a raft of updates to its software range this week, with new versions of its software families including AutoCAD, along with updates to its vertical market software such as Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk 3ds Max Design, Maya and Revit.

Autodesk is best known for its CAD software.

Each Autodesk software family contains a range of discipline-specific software, including manufacture design, digital prototyping, architecture, construction management, map making and media and entertainment.

Autodesk's new 2009 range of construction, industry and design software will be available from 25 March.

Autodesk also announced reduced pricing across the Maya range and a new version of its 3D animation suite, Maya: Maya 2008 Extension 2, which will be released next month. Autodesk has also reduced the pricing for Maya Unlimited from AU$11,000 to AU$7,700 including GST.
