Irish e-security software firm Baltimore Technologies tripled both revenue and losses in 2000.
Baltimore, having recorded final revenues totalling £74.2m compared to £23.3m in 1999, warned the slowdown in the US economy will have an impact on short-term earnings. Fran Rooney, CEO of Baltimore Technologies, stated: "Along with other technology vendors, we are aware of a potential short-term impact of the downturn in the US economy. However, we remain confident about our full year prospects and growth towards profitability." Pre-tax losses for the firm increased to £94.2m against a figure of £31.4m in 1999. Baltimore announced yesterday that it has secured a deal with Japanese mobile phone giant NTT DoCoMo to provide security for its m-commerce service i-mode.
