Be announced on Thursday that it will ship two versions of its flagship Be operating system later this month. The first version, called the BeOS 5 Personal Edition, is a free digital media operating system that will be made available for download on March 28. It will be installable on Windows machines without requiring the user to repartition the hard drive.
The full-featured version, called the BeOS 5 Pro Edition, will be published soon after via a third-party publisher in the Americas.
Be also plans to establish similar publishing relationships in Europe and Asia.
