You don't want to end up like I did back in May 2009. Wash your fruit and vegetables thoroughly. Clean your hands before and after handling food and using the lavatory. Isolate meat and vegetables with separate cutting boards. Buy a food thermometer to be sure you are cooking your meat to the proper temperature to kill any pathogens, and follow the USDA's guidelines for food safety and preparation.
