Canon has finally posted the 2.0.3 firmware update for the EOS 5D Mark II digital SLR camera, with a particular emphasis on improved and additional FPS video recording settings.

Basically, the Firmware Version 2.0.3 includes five video-related enhancements, most notably the addition of 24 and 25 FPS settings for 1080p recording in NTSC and PAL broadcasting modes.  There are also some upgrades for NTSC recording at 30 FPS.

Other technical elements added on this time are a manual sound adjustment function, a histogram display, and both shutter-priority and aperture-priority AE modes.

One of the errors that should be resolved with this update is a communication gap between the camera and lens after manual sensor cleaning.

The update is available on Canon USA's website now, and a full list of instructions on how to install the software are posted as well.
