China Merchant Bank provides cashless Et-China.com travel services

With its new participation in Et-China.com, China Merchant Bank customers can now obtain travel services online and charge purchases to the "All in One Card".

GUANGZHOU, 22 May 2000 - Et-China.com, a China travel Web site, has announced that China Merchant Bank and its one-card payment system, the "All in One Card", will participate in travel and tourism e-commerce and services at www.et-china.com.

With more than 10 million customers throughout the People's Republic of China, China Merchant Bank's "All In One Card" allows bank customers to purchase goods and services at thousands of businesses nationwide.

China Merchant Bank handled more than 70% of all Internet online purchases in China during 1999 and is one of the nation's pioneers of e-banking in China.

There are currently an estimated 12 million Internet users in China, a figure which is expected to mushroom to approximately 100 million by 2010.

With its new participation in Et-China.com, China Merchant Bank customers can now go online at www.et-china.com to obtain travel services and charge purchases to the "All in One Card".

Et-China.com also accepts all major credit cards for secure online transactions including VISA, MasterCard, Diner's Club and American Express.

Et-China.com provides online domestic (China) and international air travel booking and ticketing, travel and hotel package reservations, as well as travel-related information such as weather.

It offers real time flight and departure information at Baiyun International Airport in Guangzhou, individual seat selection and meal selection on all China Southern Airlines' flights, as well as luggage and cargo information.

Et-China.com plans to offer additional online booking services such as e-rail ticketing, e-hotel reservations and booking, as well as on-line newspaper/magazine subscription services and special event (concerts, movies) tickets.

Et-China.com is jointly owned and operated by Et-China.com Investments Pte Ltd, an Australia e-commerce investment company, and China Southern Airlines.
