iPhone nano?DigiTimes is usually a reliable first source for stories, but a curious story came online today proclaiming, "TSMC and UMC likely to receive orders for iPhone nano, says paper."

TSMC, as in Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, and UMC, as in United Microelectronics Corporation, that is. DigiTimes reports that the two companies "will likely land chip orders for Apple's low-cost entry-level iPhone nano, the Chinese-language Economic Daily News reported today," with additional detail that the chip orders may come in March and "the launch of Apple's iPhone nano is expected to take place in June this year at the earliest."

Now I've made my case for how silly the iPhone nano concept is, despite rumors going back to more than a year ago. So has Adrian Kingsley-Hughes. So what's the deal?

Is this bunk on top of bunk?
