Singapore - Telecommunications service provider CircleCom announced today a tie-up with SMEhome.com, a company leveraging on Internet technology to deliver marketplace and online content for merchants and businesses.

Under the agreement, Circle InfoCom (S) Pte Ltd, which is a core business unit of CircleCom Group of Companies, will be providing SMEs in Singapore cost-savings opportunities under its soon-to-be launched 1588 IDD services, which currently can be accessed via a 825 9555 access number. By using global dedicated bandwidth, it claims consumers are assured of clear IDD voice and fax quality at all times.

Under the program with SMEhome.com, the first 1,000 corporate companies to sign up with CircleCom before 31 Dec 2000 will be able to enjoy cost savings in IDD calling and fax services, coupled with a free web package that enables customers to establish global access and potential e-commerce facilities.

"This unique offering that we have for SME businesses in Singapore makes us the only info-communications service provider to go beyond simply offering cheaper IDD services," claimed Richard Chan, CEO of CircleCom. "We make it a key business initiative to offer value-added benefits to all our customers so that they not only enjoy cost effective solutions from CircleCom, but also get to leverage on our business alliances and partnerships to augment their own," he added.

Roger Poh, CEO of SMEhome.com commented, "The SMEhome.com portal is in answer to the Government's call to foster an innovation and entrepreneurs' hub... With further planned enhancements in the coming months, SMEhome.com will become more than an information services hub, but a place for business exchanges as well."
