A Washington State University climatologist is going to be speaking at an international gathering next week. He expects to call the debate over climate change in the public media misleading. The scientist will call for more focus on the scientific questions raised and less on the misleading debate fostered by those who want to deny global warming is happening.

The climatologist will also say the effects of global warming can be prepared for, and in some cases, prevented if there is concerted action and wise useof technology. Interestingly his speech will take place on the opening day of the AVS symposium in Seattle. Interesting because AVS began life as the American Vacuum Society, back when vacuum tubes were high tech and the core tech for many communications devices. Ask your grandfather about his parents' console radio. Now AVS is focused on the guts of digital technological devices. Their slogan is "sckien and technology of meterials, knterfaces and processing." Shows the speed with which technology can change and bring change. That reinforces the message in the speech to be delivered.

BTW, you can buy your vacuum tubes righ here.
