Digital Markets Blog presidential campaign 2008 special series on what I am calling “User Generated Politics”

“Women for Hillary” held a “power” luncheon yesterday, a “lunch hour Web chat with supporters” of Hillary for President.

Hillary has turned to one of the most powerful men in the world, however, to bring her in to the 2007 first quarter financial campaign home stretch: husband, and President, Bill Clinton.

The first “power” question from the ladies: What can women do to help Hillary?

The President’s power solicitation: Please send in a contribution, by March 31.

The only real reason to get involved in a campaign for president is that you believe a candidate will be the best president. Based on her experience, her commitment, her passion, her persistence, and her record, I KNOW HILLARY will be the best president. I hope you’ll support her campaign.

What is the urgency?

Principal campaign committees of presidential candidates report to the Federal Election Commission fundraising achieved through the first quarter in official filings by April 15. While fundraising is always front and center, quarterly reports serve as proxy benchmarks to gauge the financial positions of competing candidates.

Where do the Clintons stand?

Hillary for President is estimated to report between $30 million and $40 million, taking into account a $11 million transfer from her Senate re-election campaign of 2006.
