Using industry-standard hardware components, the Netelligent 8500, starting at £2,035 + VAT, is based on x86 architecture and Cisco's Internetworking Operating System (IOS). It features a new version of Compaq's Netelligent Management Software for network configuration and management. The unit ships with an embedded 10Base-T UTP/BNC controller and 8Mb of DRAM expandable to 40MB using industry-standard SIMMs.
