, the makers of those gee-whiz interactive whiteboards, is holding a contest for teachers in the Middle East to submit videos that demonstrate how SMART boards are making curriculum more interesting and challenging for students, reports Strategily.
The contest is in conjunction withWorld Teachers' Day, a UNESCO event designed to raise awareness of and appreciation for the vital contributions that teachers make to education. SMART will choose 75 winners from five global regions. The winners will be eligible to win iPods, SMART Board interactive whiteboards and the grand prize, an all-inclusive trip to the BETT 2007 education technology trade show in London, England.
“World Teachers’ Day reminds all of us to express our thanks and give recognition to teachers around the world who devote themselves to mentoring and educating the next generation,” says Nancy Knowlton, SMART’s president and co-CEO. “Teachers ignite the imaginations of students and inspire them to learn through the effective use of our technology, and we look forward to the video entries showcasing just how they do that.”
