Dotcom funding from IgniteAsia Challenge
SINGAPORE - Did you think the dotcom dream had disappeared? No...it just got bigger. Organised by The Quintus
Group, the IgniteAsiaChallenge, a competition
for non-public internet companies looking for 1st and 2nd round funding, has come to South East Asia and launches
the first of its five city roadshows here in Singapore on September 4th at the Grand Hyatt Hotel.
Hotfoot from its highly successful North Asia leg, IgniteAsia is working in partnership with nine of the region's
leading organisations, Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT), Compaq, Indosuez W.I. Carr Securities, Cable & Wireless HKT
Bain & Company, LabMorgan, NETVIGATOR.com, Infocomm Development Authority
of Singapore (IDA) and CNBC to provide funding and profile for new businesses in all forms of the Internet including
mobile and broadband.
Similar contests organised throughout Europe and the US helped raise millions of US dollars for dotcoms seeking
first or second round funding. Companies that progress to the IgniteAsia final gain extra mileage and promotion
via the region's press adding greater value to the company prior to IPO.
Roadshow details:
Date: 4 September 2000
Venue: Grand Hyatt Hotel
Registration: 6.00pm
IgniteAsia subsequently travels to Bangkok, KL, Manila and Bangalore with the grand final held back in Singapore on 8-9 February 2001. Entries, in the form of an executive summary, can be submitted now via the IgniteAsia site at www.igniteasiachallenge.com.
