EIC Podcast: iPhone and business; Mix '08 wrap; Facebook's new hire

This week we launch a newly constituted podcast called EIC squared, which to most folks will be the same as our Between the Lines podcast with a different acronym. In other words, Dan Farber and I, are reconvening our weekly podcasts with a new moniker to reflect that the two of us have new gigs.

nch a newly constituted podcast called EIC squared, which to most folks will be the same as our Between the Lines podcast with a different acronym. In other words, Dan Farber and I, are reconvening our weekly podcasts with a new moniker to reflect that the two of us have new gigs. Dan is editor-in-chief at News.com and I took over for Dan at ZDNet.

In this installment, we examine the iPhone's impact in the enterprise, the potential ROI and the importance of Web applications in making Apple a player in corporate America.

Dan riffs on Ray Ozzie's talk at Mix '08 and we examine whether Microsoft gets this Internet thing. The answer: You bet.

And finally Facebook grows up. We noted that Facebook's hire of former Google executive Sheryl Sandberg as chief operating officer gives CEO Mark Zuckerberg someone that can take the company to the next level.
