Digital photo frames have been slowly making their way into homes, but they haven't quite caught on yet. But maybe adding another feature will do the trick. Epson has announced the PictureMate Show, a digital photo frame and compact, high-quality printer all in one simple device.

The 7-inch, WVGA tilt screen, hi-res digital frame can display photos via the card reader and USB ports on the side. It also has the ability to store up to 270 MB worth of pictures for future print jobs and slideshows.

The PictureMate can print a range of sizes , from passport photos to traditional 4x6-inch prints, on either glossy or matte paper. The Epson printer also comes with some basic built-in photo editing features including cropping, red-eye reduction and adjusting color and balance.

The average photo should print within 37 seconds, and Epson also promises that PictureMate Show prints will last up to four times longer than any traditionally processed photos, but those will both need to be tested to be sure.

However, one of the most common reasons for why digital photo frames aren't a must-have gadget yet is their usually-absurd prices. This printer won't come cheap either, starting at $299, and it's available now. Still interested?
