Exhausting question: my gas, or yours?

A U.N. official has set off a little political warming trend by by himself: think of it as climate change in the blogosphere. He suggested rich countries have done a lot to cut gree nhouse gas emissions at home, so they should go on a sort of economic missionary crusade to cut emissions in poorer countries.

That set off some fuming over the rich folks trying to tell the poor folks how to mow their lawn, yet the rich folks still have a lot of their own, well-fed weeds. But isn't one point of getting rich always being able to tell the less wealthy what to do and where to do it?

Meanwhile China and the U.S. lead the earth in greenhouse gas emissions and neither one of them are reducing their output.
