Family runs house on Prius-power

A New England blizzard led to black-outs, that led one engineer to what may be a first. He ran his frig and freezer on Prius-power. Here's the original report in the Boston newspaper. Now that Harvard engineer John Sweeney has shown the way, can it be long before some enterprising enterprise begins selling house-powering kits to Prius owners in areas prone to blizzard, earthquake or flood?

Let us point out it was not the Prius' electrical side alone that carried the day. It was the good old internal combustion enegine powered by gasoline that was the basic source of power when the lights went out.
