Gateway has churned out the LT32 portable computer, being a bit larger than the normal netbook with 11.6-inch display. The manufacturer has also gone out of its way to make this machine multimedia and social networking-friendly.
Even though that screen isn't all that large, Gateway seems assured it should display HD and flash video well enough. Furthermore, the LT32 is probably targeted towards a younger crowd given that there is a dedicated a function key for accessing social networking sites like Facebook and YouTube directly.
Here's what else the Gateway LT32 includes:
- 11.6-inch LED-backlit widescreen display (1,366 x 768 resolution; 16:9 aspect ratio)
- AMD Athlon II Neo K125 1.7GHz processor
- ATI Radeon HD 4225 graphics
- Windows 7 Home Premium
- 2GB of DDR3 memory
- 250GB hard drive
- Wi-Fi
- 3G
- Built-in microphone and HD webcam
- Connectivity: Three USB 2.0 ports, VGA, Gigabit Ethernet
There are a couple of vague points, like the "multi-in-one digital card reader," and there isn't an note about weight on this portable machine nor battery life - although CNET reports we can only expect up to four hours of work time on the LT32.
Pricing for the Gateway LT32 will start at $449.99. No word on when it will actually be on sale either.
