Geo-engineering: what's up?

There's a new utility-company blog that's keeping an interested eye on geo-engineering proposals. These are mega-scale plans to combat global warming. The geo-engineering plans range from cloud-seeding to iron added to sea water to airborne solar reflectors. The plan to enrich seawater making algae bloom ran into nature. Seems there are numerous creatures in the sea that eat that extra algae, not letting it sink to the bottom with captured carbon. Thus nature recycles her carbon.

Back when Lohafex was underway, the experiment to enrich Atlantic algae growth, it seemed workable. Now we find that little carbon is absorbed as the algae is devoured by grazers. [poll id="114"]
