Good buys Boxtone, launches Good Pro app

Good Technology beefs up with an acquisition as well as a new app and distribution deals.

Good Technology on Sunday said it acquired Boxtone, a privately held company that makes enterprise mobility management software, and launched a cloud-based platform called Good Pro.

For Good, a cloud-based platform and the addition of Boxtone, could broaden its addressable market and boost its customer base. The company also announced distribution deals with Tech Data and TELUS. Good provides mobile device management and security tools. The news was announced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. 

The cloud platform, dubbed Good Pro, allows large companies to small enterprises to individuals to manage mobile devices via a app. The Good Pro app integrates Microsoft Exchange, email, contacts and calendar and links with file sharing services.

Good Pro will be available on Android in March and Apple's iOS in April.

As for Boxtone, Good acquires a company that'll bolster security in joint products, and add 130 customers. Terms of the Boxtone deal weren't disclosed.
