You can take this as the attested truth or just with a grain of salt, but:

I was just told by a Sprint customer service rep that the Nextel and Sprint billing systems should be combined by the end of May.

This is good news for BlackBerry customers.

If you came to BlackBerry via then-separate Nextel- which I did- you know what a pain it is to point your browser to Nextel, be automatically forwarded to Sprint, see separate interfaces for each on the landing page, and then try to figure out where to go next. That's why I am showing you that grab at the top of this post- a grab from the SprintNextel home page.

Or worse yet, it can be a pain to talk to phone or store based Sprint reps about Nextel accounts, and for them to not be  able to pull up your records or tell you about products. Or vice-versa with Nextel legacy stores, who, to this day, are still somewhat thinly stocked with Sprint BlackBerrys and other handsets.

All this is supposed to be fixed next month. Either SprintNextel has been holding off until all the bugs were solved, or the CSR is simply repeating rumors.

SprintNextel as one? I will believe it when I see it.
