Dipchand "Deep" Nishar, a top Google executive, is leaving the search giant to become vice president of product strategy at LinkedIn. Nishar will start Jan. 5, said a LinkedIn spokeswoman.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Nishar will help LinkedIn
Nishar (bio) developed the product strategy for Google's mobile products worldwide. Prior to Google, Deep worked at Siebel Systems as part of the founding team of the Universal Application Network (UAN) business unit. He'll update his LinkedIn profile when he officially starts.
In October, LinkedIn bolstered its war chest with a $22.7 million round of funding from the likes of Goldman Sachs, McGraw-Hill, SAP and Bessemer Venture Partners. The company is obviously open to spending some of that dough on management talent.
