Google will offer free cloud services to 10 select media startups in Korea, the company announced.

The companies will be offered the Google Cloud Platform, or GCP, package for free for a year.

The GCP package offers management and development tools and big data, storage, computing, and networking services.

Google will offer its Spark Package, which gives $20,000 credit for use in Google Cloud Platform and Firebase products. It also offers one-on-one tech sessions with engineers, a 24-hour call service, and G Suite use for free for a year.

Media startups that have had their service for at least three months and write three stories a week can apply on the registration page until April 28.

Google Campus Seoul and Google Korea's media innovation team will review the applicants and announce the winners on May 15. It will start offering the Spark Package in June.

The company has been running the "Media Innovation Series" program for local media as well as holding sessions on research, education, innovation, and products.
