Written by Larry Dignan, Contributor

Hewlett Packard Enterprise said its Octane application lifecycle management suite is available as it aims to enable enterprises to speed up and hone DevOps related processes.

DevOps typically refers to the use of agile collaboration and communications between development and information technology operations.

Octane aims to use tools and frameworks such as Jenkins, GIT and Gherkin. Octane is designed to run alongside HPE's application lifecycle management software and Quality Center tools.

Among the key points:

  • Octane is able to integrate with developer testing tools and various application programming interfaces.
  • The software configures and triggers automated testing processes so developers can spot results and defects.
  • Support for various testing and automation tools as well as frameworks to test scripts, find flaws and track various relationships between applications and their components.
  • Analytics is built in with algorithms to maintain quality and inform decisions.
