There's currently a lot of gossip about a potential Google Calendar offering, and today RedMonk analyst Stephen O'Grady picked up on Jeremy Zawodny's take. Like most, O'Grady, who's impressed by Gmail and Google Maps, thinks Google can easily out-innovate other browser-based calendars. Should the company actually push out a lightweight offering, he says, "They'd get a hell of a lot of traction, particularly at the SMB level."

A Google Calendar offering would be a logical progression especially now that the line between thin and rich clients is blurring.
