A decent tablet for under $100? That's possible with this deal from Best Buy and Acer, after accounting for the gift card.

The Acer Iconia Tab 8 is not the most powerful Android tablet on the market, but it's a good starter model. Just in time for the holidays, Acer and Best Buy have teamed up to offer it for $139.99. That's already a pretty good price and they sweeten the deal by giving buyers a $40 Best Buy gift card. That's less than $100 for a decent tablet.

The Iconia Tab 8 offered has an Intel processor, 1GB of system memory, and 16GB of storage. The Atom processor runs at 1.33 GHz and the 8-inch display is full HD. There's a 2MP camera on the front (web cam) and a 5MP camera on the back.

The tablet ships with Android 4.4 (KitKat) and Acer was not able to confirm to ZDNet at the time of publication if this device will be upgraded to Lollipop. For less than a hundred bucks that's not a big deal if not.

The Iconia Tab 8 is available at Best Buy now, both online and in store, and the holiday special will run through December 23. The $40 gift card will be part of the deal "while the promotional gift card supplies last" according to Acer and Best Buy.
