Lists ... if there's one thing that people seem to what at this time of year it's lists. In the run up to the Holidays I've planned on posting several kit lists for the Holiday season covering a wide variety of different kit.

IronKey

IronKey is the ultimate USB flash drive!

Not only do you have an ultra-tough and waterproof drive where the delicate innards are protected by being encased in hard epoxy and then then wrapped in a tough metal shell (believe me, this thing is tough) but you get all the benefits of always-on hardware encryption. No more having to mess about with software driver of applications. Because all the encryption is done by hardware all the data is protected against cold-boot and brute force attacks.

On top of robust security you also get a private web browsing feature and secure password storage.

These drives are pricey though - a 1GB drive will set you back $79, while the 8GB model costs a whopping $299.

  • Generates up to 32lbs of gyroscopic pressure at maximum RPM (9,000 - 13,000)
  • LCD digital speedometer displays speed changes, RPM, and Physical Strength Index
  • Variable resistance is achieved by increasing or decreasing the speed
  • Good for sports warm-up and therapeutic for sports training and rehabilitation

Price: $40 | Find out more: X-treme Geek

Khet

Khet is a strategy game that combines an Egyptian theme with lasers! It's a board game that, on the face of it, sounds simplistic, but addictive once you start playing.

Gameplay is as follows. The laser beam bounces from mirror to mirror on pieces that you can move or rotate and if the beam strikes a non-mirrored surface on any piece, it is removed from play. When the beam strikes the pharaoh (think of this piece as the king in chess), that player has lost. So the idea is to zap your opponent's pharaoh while keeping your pharaoh safe.

What I like about Khet is that you can add new depth to the game by purchasing expansion packs.
