HP buys SPI Dynamics
Hewlett-Packard said it will acquire SPI Dynamics for an undisclosed sum as security companies are quickly gobbled up. IBM recently acquired Watchfire in a similar deal.

Hewlett-Packard said it will acquire SPI Dynamics for an undisclosed sum as security companies are quickly gobbled up.
IBM recently acquired Watchfire in a similar deal. Meanwhile, companies such as RSA Security and ISS have also been acquired by EMC and IBM, respectively.
SPI assesses the security of software code. The acquisition gives HP a foothold in the application quality market.
In a statement, HP said SPI is already integrated with HP's Quality Center software. SPI has 140 employees in Atlanta and has more than 1,000 customers.
