IBM is developing a 32-processor Intel server, despite the fact that it has yet to rollout its 16-processor system, Summit. Summit is poised for release in the first quarter of 2002 with the release of Intel's Xeon chip for multi-processor servers. However, IBM said at the Comdex show yesterday that the next-generation of the line, tentatively called Enterprise X Architecture 2, will feature 32-processor servers and will be available in about three years, US wires report.
