Is Nokia working with the Zune team to support the Zune library?
There have been rumors floating around of a Zune phone and I personally am not that excited about such a device and wonder if many people really are. The latest rumors about the Zune and phones though does seem to make a bit of sense. Zunescene reported that Nokia is working with the Zune team on integration of Zune Marketplace content. Nokia has a music store, but it is not available in the United States yet and I think if Nokia could get their devices to support the Zune Marketplace they would have a fairly well established library of music content that actually may help sell more Nokia devices in the U.S.
I currently have an original Zune and a 4GB new Zune, but I do not subscribe to the Zune Pass because I can only play that music on the Zune devices. If I could play these tunes on a Nokia S60 device, then I would subscribe to the Zune Pass since my phones are always with me and my MP3 player is not. I am a bit surprised though that we are hearing about Nokia working with the Zune team, when Zune content should first be available on Windows Mobile devices and I still can't believe Microsoft hasn't done this themselves yet. I think Windows Mobile devices with the ability to play music from Zune Pass subscriptions would be a compelling alternative to the iPhone and iTunes.
