Jive Software's autumn release is all about new social data and where to find it.

Announced amid JiveWorld 2013 in Las Vegas this week, many of the updates coming to the cloud-based social business platform focus on netting data from more familiar tech brands and pumping that information directly into Jive's products.

Following up an integration with Box earlier this year, Jive is paying similar attention to Google Drive and Gmail.

Users of both platforms will be able to sync up Jive with Drive for editing documents stored on Google's cloud locker while never having to leave Jive. Additionally, Jive users will be able to set up Jive discussions from existing emails on Gmail.

Along with adding Facebook and Twitter data into Jive activity feeds, the software company has added more document management and content system integration options for third-party developers in order to tie Jive resources more into their own apps.

Jive is also baking in access to the two aforementioned social networks through its new cloud version of its customer community platform, dubbed JiveX. Slated to launch early next year, the platform is designed to offer businesses with a more comprehensive view of their brands based on weaving together data from social media streams, CRM apps, point-and-click analytics, and other marketing automation systems.

An on-premise version of JiveX is already on the market.

An exact drop date hasn't been published, but the Fall Cloud release is slated to become available in early November.
