Judge considers DVD encryption case

San Jose, Calif. Superior Court Judge William Elfving on Tuesday said he would rule soon on a move to block Web sites providing encryption keys to unlock DVD content protection schemes. The lawsuit, filed by the DVD Copy Control Association, says the sites violate trade secret laws. Elfving heard arguments during a three-hour session. --ZDNN staff
