in brief Services vendor Kaz will tomorrow sign an AU$20 million, five year contract to support a key communications system for the Royal Australian Navy.

According to a statement issued by the vendor today, Kaz won the deal with the navy's Fleet Information Systems Support Organisation (FISSO) over rivals CSC, Tennix, Lockheed Martin and Australian Defence Industries.

Kaz said the FISSO was responsible for all e-mail communications at sea, including correspondence between navy staff and their families back home.

The contract would see Kaz providing IT management, support and development services to the FISSO's highly restricted network.
