LaCie Slim Blu-ray portable burner now available; $264.99

LaCie is now shipping its external Slim Blu-ray drive, which is ready for recording, rewriting, and playback of DVDs and Blu-ray discs.

Some sample write time speeds include BD-R at 6x, BD-R (Dual Layer) at 4x, DVD±R and DVD±RW at 8x.

The USB 2.0-connected drive doesn't require any extra power sources besides the Mac/Linux/Windows-based computer.

The LaCie Slim Blu-ray portable disc burner is shipping now with an MSRP of $264.99. That includes a bundle of nine software programs for burning and editing photos and videos.
