Linux firms to merge

Linux distributor VA Research Linux Systems will announce Tuesday that it plans to buy Electric Lichen, the Linux marketing company that's garnered support for such events as the Linuxbierwanderung and Linux Refund Day. VA Research sells computers preloaded with Linux and recently landed funding from Intel. Electric Lichen has helped companies such as IBM and Informix Systems develop their Linux plans.
