Of the six IT recruitment firms contacted by ZDNN, none had found an increase in demand for Linux experts. Dennis Padger, IT recruitment consultant with Wren Recruitment in Yorkshire has noticed no change in demand for Linux professionals.
Susannah Jackson, recruitment consultant with London-based Prince agrees: "We deal largely with Microsoft and although there is a small demand for Unix, Linux experts are not something we have a specific need for," she said.
Some firms were not familiar with the operating system.
