Local author to launch 2 e-books on ISO for SMEs
SINGAPORE, 30 May 2000 -- Seamus Phan, the chief information officer and partner of McGallen & Bolden Group, has independently authored two new e-books, one titled ISO 9000 Primer and ISO 14000 Primer. These two titles will be delivered on CD-ROM as well as online PDF distribution. Custom print versions can be made available upon request.
ISO 9000 Primer and ISO 14000 Primer are delivered in Adobe Acrobat PDF (Portable Document Format), which can be read across UNIX, Macintosh and Windows computers using the freely distributed Adobe Acrobat Reader software. At the same time, the books can be printed onto hard copy using Acrobat Reader. Seamus has also provided templates that can be used by the reader to construct their own ISO compliance manuals, whether delivered through print or online.
"I've taken my prior doctoral research and industrial work for smaller businesses, and translated them into easy-to-understand formats for busy executives and small business owners in these two book projects. There are many ISO compliance consultancies out there rendering great work for larger companies, but smaller businesses tend to be cash-strapped," commented Seamus Phan.
"I have a special interest for smaller businesses as I feel the future belongs to modular entities that
can move fast, and deliver customized one-to-one customer experiences. At the same time, there is an urgent need
for smaller businesses to understand ISO compliance from a management perspective. The primer documents are especially
useful for small manufacturing companies, professional services firms, legal firms, high-tech start-ups, and any
organization with a desire to maximize resources and export to advanced nations."
Seamus has authored two books previously. His first, "Service Quality - The Enlightened Approach", was
highly acclaimed by editors, broadcasters and service providers as a no-nonsense and highly practical approach
to rendering excellent customer service.
His second book, delivered on CD-ROM and online PDF, "The Internet Webmaster Logbook", was a unique book
with specific instructions for small and medium enterprises to construct human resource (HR) intranets, and a template
system is provided.
