Software process expert and all-around great guy, Ed Yourdon, has been studying IT failure for many years. As the author of more than 550 articles and 27 books, Ed deserves our attention (in a major way).

Ed is currently updating his book, Death March, to the third edition and he travels the world giving seminars to explain why projects go bad and how to make them successful.

Down below is copy of the most recent slides for Ed's seminar on managing death-march projects. As you read the slides, bear in mind one essential point: the problems and solutions are primarily about people and not technology.

Technology is not the enemy of project success. As in every sphere of life and business, it's the people who make things complicated. Collaboration and communication are key ingredients to successfully managing complicated initiatives.

Enjoy these great slides!
