Microsoft licenses audio technology

Microsoft Corp said Thursday it had reached an agreement to license elements of audio technology developed by Israel's Waves Ltd. Microsoft said in a statement that it would use Waves' TrueVerb technology in future versions of its operating systems, including DirectMusic, an applications programming interface.

TrueVerb makes it possible to simulate the effects of different acoustic spaces.
