Microsoft: Vista Stunk, but we PROMISE not to do it again with Win7

That is my "executive summary" of this article from Tech World. I find it ever so reassuring that they promise Windows 7 will be better than Vista. Duh. Could it be worse? Could it be just as bad? Would anyone from Microsoft ever come out and say anything other than that? Do the reassurances from Microsoft inspire a lot of people to rush out and give them even more money, by paying to replace the Vistaster that they have already paid for, willingly or not (i.e. because Microsoft forced OEMs to stop selling XP, even though it was clear that was still what consumers wanted)? What about those, such as myself, who were forced to buy Vista Business just so that we could get XP Professional, and then threw away Vistaster? They get the pleasure of paying Microsoft AGAIN if they want Windows 7?
